I am not sure

I am not sure what it is that has me so inspired when I am ringside. It might be the lights, or the thrill, or the crowd, but I don't think it is. To me, photography is capturing a moment that is otherwise passed right by; noticeable, but forgotten a millisecond later; a split second of real emotion; a split second perhaps no one else is supposed to see. And I think that is what has me so inspired.

Studio

I've finally set up my forreal studio. Now I'm super legit...

Photoshoots to come...hopefully followed by sweet stop-motion videos.

Pic of the Day

Today's Pic of the Day was taken two days ago at Ocean Beach, and has significant symbolism. It works as sort of a self portrait...

Thought of the Night

I don't think life (mine specifically) would be much of anything without a struggle. I think its the work behind things that make them truly satisfying.

Julaton-Alcanter Boxing Match

On Friday, February 25, I got the opportunity to shoot for Fight News, one of the most established boxing websites. The main event was the 'Return of the Hurricane,' (referring to Ana Julaton), at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, California. Ana Julaton, a Fillipino-American fighter, was defending her title against Francesca Alcanter, from Kansas City, MO.

Here is the post on FightNews

Shooting a boxing match isn't the same as watching one. You don't necessarily get to see the big picture, or every hit, and are contorted, ringside, camera under the ropes, trying to get the perfect shot. It is exciting, but its not always easy to assess who should be the winner. On Friday, it was pretty clear...
